Ms. Oney has practiced in the Cook County Domestic Relations Division for over
25 years. She has handled many difficult and contentious custody
cases and complex property divisions. She also has extensive trial
experience in the "roller coaster" area of maintenance
awards. Following an initial consultation, Ms. Oney believes it
is her job to advise a client whether or not their case has merit,
based on a complicated array of circumstances. She ensures that
each client understands the law as it relates to his or her particular
circumstances, and she does not believe in making unrealistic
promises. Since starting her own firm in 1978, most of her clients
have been referrals from other clients. Ms. Oney utilizes a written
retainer and her clients are thoroughly advised as to potential
fees.
